Every day we care for our sheep we have their wool in mind. Feeding is done carefully to avoid getting hay into their fibers. Of course, while we make every effort, sheep are still sheep and they do get dirty. But we do try our best to keep them clean.
Our sheep are shorn each year around May by an experienced shearer. Their fleece is then carefully skirted to remove heavily soiled parts. Each fleece is then hand washed in small batches making every effort to keep their fibers and locks in good condition. Of course, some amount of VM (vegetable matter) and soiling often does persist after washing.

Our wool and locks that we offer are the result of our best efforts to provide you with lovely fiber that is a joy to work with. Please feel free to contact us if you have specific questions about our wool.
